Do you offer a complimentary initial consultation?

Yes, let’s see if we’re a good fit. It is an investment of time with no obligation and no cost. We’ll discuss your needs and expectations, share our capabilities and talk about next steps.

What is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) certification?

The CFP® Certification is a professional certification for financial planners conferred by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. To receive authorization to use the certification, the candidate must meet annual education, examination, experience as well as ethics and fiduciary requirements.

What is a fiduciary*, and are you one?

A fiduciary is both legally and ethically bound to act in their clients' best interest, not their own. Fiduciaries are held to the highest standard of conduct. 

*To the extent that I am providing you with investment advisory services, including either financial planning services or ongoing investment advice as part of an LFA investment advisory program (i.e., fee-based managed account) pursuant to a written agreement and related disclosures that describes this investment advisory relationship, I am acting in a fiduciary capacity related to those services under the federal securities laws, in particular the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.

What defines the business philosophy of the firm?

We serve our clients based on the Lincoln Financial Advisors' philosophy of "Service: First, Last and AlwaysSM."

Can you work with my other advisors such as my attorney and accountant?

Yes. We believe that a team approach results in more effective financial planning - and action - all for your benefit.

How can I maintain contact with my advisor/planner?

You can reach us in person, by phone, via email and online.

How is Kensington Wealth Partners compensated for their services?

If engaged as comprehensive financial planners, we employ a fixed financial planning fee. This can be renewed each year. When overseeing your investment assets, a management fee may be received. Ask us about your own situation.

What is Kensington Wealth Partners' investment philosophy?

We view ourselves as mathematical stewards of your wealth. As such, we first calculate what you need to earn toward achieving your unique goals. This metric is engaged as we deploy your capital, using diversified asset classes and instruments; focused on the most efficient return and least amount of risk.

How is Kensington Wealth Partners associated with Lincoln Financial Advisors?

Lincoln Financial Advisors holds all securities registrations of Kensington's associates and performs securities due diligence. Kensington Wealth Partners is an independent firm and is not an affiliate of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp. Paul Gydosh, Managing Director, is a registered representative of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp, which is a broker-dealer (member SIPC) and a registered investment advisor.

Will Kensington Wealth Partners review the performance of my investment accounts for me? How will I get the information?

Yes. We are always available to discuss the positioning and performance of every holding. We can also provide you with Omnisource Reports, which track the performance of your investments. This information is also reviewed during your Account Review Meetings. You also retain direct access to your accounts through Web access and toll-free phone numbers.

Who do I contact if I want to make changes to my investments?

Please contact a partner of the firm.

Will I receive periodic statements regarding my investments?

Yes. Each investment account provides regular, periodic reporting directly to you. In addition, you may also review your accounts and investments via eMoney, directly with the company's website where your investment account is held, or just give us a call.

Can you help me with my company benefits and retirement plans?

Yes. We offer executive benefits plans and retirement planning services. We also understand and can explain employee stock options and restricted stock plans. The time and dedication it takes to stay on top of the current financial situation and laws while planning for the future can be a full-time job in itself. We understand this and can offer you a partnership that will help to ease your worries and increase your financial well-being. This applies equally if you are the owner of your business.

Can you help me develop a planned charitable giving plan?

Yes. We find many of our clients want to include charitable giving in their financial planning. We explore numerous giving options in the area of charitable planning with our clients. We actually wrote a book on the subject. We have found that serious charitable planning is driven by charitable intent first; the tax and leverage benefits make the giving that much more effective.

Where are my assets actually held?

Our broker dealer is Lincoln Financial Advisors (LFA). Assets are held with various product sponsors, depending on each account. Your funds held through LFA are insured through SIPC (Securities Investor Protection Corporation) up to the stipulated dollar amounts. Go to the SIPC website for more complete information.

What is a Series 7 securities registration?

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has developed and maintains rigorous regulations and oversight of the securities industry. The Series 7 registration qualifies a candidate for the purchase, and/or sale of all securities products, including corporate securities, municipal securities, municipal fund securities, options, direct participation programs, investment company products, variable contracts, mutual funds and ETFs.

What is the Resource Group and what benefit does it provide to me?
